When people watch a brand video, they usually see the finish—the glow, the rhythm, the joy.
What they don’t see is the intention behind every creative decision: why the space looks the way it does, why the movement feels natural, and why the story resonates.
This Behind the Project moment pulls back the curtain on how GurlCo Media approached Black Paper Party’s Nile Noel holiday campaign—and why story always leads our process.
| Great brand videos don’t start with cameras. They begin with clarity.
Madia Willis, Co-founder/CEO of Black Paper Party, came to us with a focused vision. She wanted to introduce the Nile Noel collection in a way that felt elevated, joyful, and unmistakably Black Paper Party. She also shared a desire to be more present on camera—inviting her community to connect not just with the product, but with the person behind the brand.
That dual intention—product and presence—became our creative anchor.
Instead of treating Christmas as a rigid theme, we approached it as a feeling: warmth, togetherness, movement, and celebration. A mood that could be experienced, not staged.
To support that vision, we transformed an existing workspace into a festive environment layered with intention. By reimagining the space, we elevated the visuals while staying budget-smart—proving that creativity, not excess, drives production value.
| High-impact visuals don’t require bigger budgets—just smarter creative choices.
Throughout the shoot, we focused on moments that felt lived-in rather than posed. Product visuals were styled to feel part of the environment, highlighting texture, pattern, and design. Madia moved naturally through the space, reinforcing a sense of authenticity and connection.
What emerged was more than a holiday promo. It was a visual story that reflected joy, culture, and community—core pillars of the Black Paper Party brand.
| When product, founder, and story align, the content lasts longer than the moment.
We believe the strongest brand videos resonate because they’re rooted in intention. They’re designed to connect, to last, and to work across platforms long after a campaign ends.
